Kid's Club At The Mall

Everyone loves spending time with their family, right? Well we discovered our local mall has a kids club called, Kidgets. The best part is you can get a yearly membership for only $5 per kid! How exciting!!!! If you don't know already you will soon find out I LOVE SAVING $$$. Since becoming a stay-at-home mommy being frugal has become a way of life. Actually my hubby teases me that my motto is, "If it's FREE, it's for ME!" and well he is right!
Anyways I thought I would share with you about this club since my son loves it so much. We happened to be at the mall last fall when they were having an event. I asked what was going on and they explained to us about the Kidgets Club. We joined that day and received a free t shirt and a bag of goodies. Then allowed our son to join in on the fun. That particular day they were handing out a box of K'nex transformer toys, had coloring sheets, small crafts and a bouncy house. I couldn't believe all he walked away with and the amount of fun he had. We were hooked!
We receive a flyer in the mail as well as an email for upcoming events. Most events are on Saturdays which means it's a family activity!! Their events usually last about 2 hours and include crafts, coloring sheets, giveaways and an activity that goes with their event theme. Today's event was a Pirate Party. They had a crew from Disney Radio there playing games with the kids. They gave away pirate attire and swords, made treasure chests, messages in a bottle, dug for buried treasure and had an all around good time! In the past we've enjoyed  Milk and Cookies with Santa (even though our son was scared of Santa), Costume Party, and of course anytime they have a bouncy house is a big hit.
Our membership also includes perks with other vendors/retailers in the mall. Plus every time you go to the mall show your membership card at the customer service desk and your child gets to spin a wheel to win a prize!
So if your looking for a fun time with your family at a great price go ask customer service at your local mall about their kid's club!

PICKLE SUNDAY PROMOTION

PICKLE SUNDAY PROMOTION! No sour attitudes with Pickle Sunday! Kids will go crazy for ice cold, juicy pickles.

Here are a few ideas and tips for this promotion:

-Pickles are best if served nice and cold.

-Don't forget to have heavy duty paper towels &/or wet wipes handy! BTW...Regular napkins are too thin and don't do much good. Have a trash can available.

-When serving use tongs, you will be glad you have them by the time you get to the bottom of the jar.

-Can purchase large jars of pickles in the Bulk aisle of local grocer.

-Encourage workers and kids to wear green that day.

-A fun contest/icebreaker we enjoy doing is a pickle eating contest. The person who eats their pickle the fastest is the winner.
-Want to make it more interesting? Put it in an ice cream cone and add whip cream and a cherry on top of the pickle. Oh yeah!!! It's really great when they think it's an ice cream cone and they take a nice Big bite of a PICKLE! Hehehe!!!! We award the winner a prize and we also give all the participants a small prize as well for allowing us to torcher them! lol

-Pickle Juice is another contest/icebreaker you can do. Disperse the pickle juice into small cups and give one to each player. Then on GO they drink it down. The first person to finish their cup is the winner.
-Want to make it more interesting? Pour the pickle juice into a pop can (Mountain Dew would be best) and say GO. Once again they will have a sour look on their face when they realize it's pickle juice and not pop. Remember to award the winner a prize and give all the participants a small prize.

-Have a SOUR FACE contest. Instead of silly faces we want to see SOUR FACES! Award the winner a prize!

-Sing the "Jesus wants everybody Happy!" song.

"Jesus Wants Everybody Happy!" Song
The Devil wants everybody GRUMPY!
The Devil wants everybody SAD!
The Devil wants everybody GRUMPY, GRUMPY, GRUMPY,
He doesn't want anybody GLAD!

BUT...
Jesus wants everybody HAPPY!
Jesus wants everybody GLAD!
Jesus wants everybody HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY,
He doesn't want anybody SAD!

BUBBLE SUNDAY PROMOTION

Bubble Sunday is a great promotion during the Spring and Summer months. What kid doesn't love Bubbles?! It's amazing how the simple pleasure of Bubbles brings such joy and laughter to all. It reminds me how we should allow the Joy of our Salvation to Bubble Up and overflow. Do others see your love for the Lord?
Here are a few ideas for Bubble Sunday:
-Give each child a bottle of their very own bubbles!

-Have different bubble stations set up on the church grounds where the kids can go to. For instance you can have an outdoor bubble machine, giant bubbles, colored bubbles, and lots of different wands.

-Run a contest where the person who brings the most visitors or behaves the best, etc. can win a prize. Purchase a bubble set that is in your price range. You can find all kinds of ideas on amazon.com or at your local dept. store.

-Hire a bubble entertainer if available in your area.

LOVE YOUR COUNTRY SUNDAY

Love Your Country Sunday is a great promotion for Independence Day weekend.

Here are a few ideas you could use for this special day:
-Encourage everyone to dress in red, white and blue! Award one guy and one gal for the most patriotic outfit. If you are doing this promotion for the bus ministry you could choose 1 or 2 on each route. If you are doing this as a Sunday School promotion then choose 1 or 2 in each classroom. Well you get the idea! We also strongly encourage the workers to set an example and participate as well.

-You could give out small hand held flags or patriotic trinkets. Oriental Trading Co. or US Toys is a great resource.

-As a treat you can serve red, white and blue bomb pops.

-Sing Patriotic Songs such as My Country, 'Tis of Thee, The Star-Spangled Banner, O Beautiful For Spacious Skies, Battle Hymn of the Republic.

Cookie Sunday

Cookie Sunday is a great promotion for every age! Most everyone has a sweet tooth and if they don't they are lying;) Hahahaha!! You can use this promotion for the Bus Ministry, Sunday School, Children's Church or for whatever Ministry you desire!
I personally recommend you take the extra effort and bake homemade cookies! Also beware of peanut allergies by not including peanut butter or peanuts in your cookie recipe.

Welcome To The Ministry Toolbox

Welcome to The Ministry Toolbox! This is a blog to provide tools for the different areas of ministries in The Church and in The Home. We will try to provide ideas and tips we've brainstormed or gathered through the years, lessons we've learned and everything in between!

Through the past 15+ years we've actively served the Lord in many different ministries of the Church. We love serving in Children's Ministries such as Children's Church, Sunday School, Nursery, Vacation Bible School, Bus Ministry and Bible Clubs. We've also served as Secretary, Youth Minister, Minister of Finances, and Assistant Pastor. This is not said to be boastful but just to give you a glimpse of who we are. As Christians our hearts have always been to just serve the Lord anyway and anywhere we can.

We also consider our Home and Marriage a Ministry. We try to provide a loving, caring and God-centered home for our family. As much as we love serving in our Church we decided to make the Ministry of Marriage and Home a priority in our lives. We encourage other Christians to find that proper balance of Home and Church.

Our prayer is that The Ministry Toolbox will be a blessing and help to you. The goal of our future posts is to give you the tools you need to be an effective servant by saving you time, money, resources, and etc. The content provided is free and is not to be sold.
